My Most Unforgettable Travel Experience:
Hiking through Maowusu Desert

Three years ago, I traveled to Maowusu Desert with another friend on foot during summer holidays, and experienced something truly unforgettable.
As everybody knows, Maowusu Desert lies on between the north of Shaanxi Province and the south of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. We started our trip from the city of Yulin, in the north of Shaanxi Province.
In the first few days, we must overcome some obstacles, such as how to block sunlight radiation and how to get enough fresh water and food. Luckily, we had made a good plan before set out. For example, we selected a safer route through the desert. Along our path, we could find at least one small restaurant, and then get enough water and food from there for our next stop.
Every day of the trip, walking was the main task. On average, we walked 10 hours each day. When the sun set down, we stopped and selected a proper location near the road, and put tent and slept. Next morning, we had some simple breakfast and continued the trip before sunrise. On the whole journey, the desert land war barren and full of sand, but beautiful. We enjoyed it greatly.
After ten days, we completed the journey of 300 kilometers, and successfully and safely arrived at the city of Baotou, in the south of Inner Mongolia.
Now when remember that special experience, I always think it was a big project for two young men, but we did it!
That was my most unforgettable travel experience.
