MAS要想真正的和育种结合,有一项工作是必须做的:解析育种材料中的QTL位点.在连锁作图的年代一般利用重组自交系,DH群体等来进行QTL检测,但这种群体不是育种中用的群体.如果作图的亲本也不是育种的亲本,加上定位比较粗,那么在育种中的应用就遥遥无期.所以大多数的QTL定位结果可能都只能用来发文章.
现在由于关联作图在植物中的应用,使作图群体可能有更多的选择.这篇文章就是个例子Genetic basis of agronomically important traits in sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) investigated with joint linkage association

表1 是这篇文章用到的材料.这是育种材料.育种材料的特点是:配的组合多,但每个组合的后代少.当然这篇文章的标记密度和群体大小都比较小.在我看来也是比较有特点的文章.和我最近的一点想法也不谋而合.
