The news on NRP is not very good these days. The GOP and the tea party are making more noises than their opponent. It's depressing.
I thought that I would help just a little, when I was asked to make some calls to get voters out. I called three numbers, and that was it.
The first number was no longer in service. What a relief. The second number went through, but a man answered the phone and said not interested (speaking for the female whose name I was given). The third time was the charm. An old man's voice answered me, and gave the phone to the woman, June. I said that I was helping to get the voters out for the mid-term election, and she said she will vote. I thanked her, without asking more specific questions listed on the Web that was sent to me. I feel as long as she is going to vote, that's good enough. Whom she wants to vote is entirely up to her.
By the way, I generally hate telemarketing. So much so that I pay monthly fee to get my home phone number unlisted in the White Page. I also hardly ever call anyone, including my friends. To me, email is so much better, because one can read it and answer it when she wants to.
