The Wind Beneath My Wings

2007.2.24

这是我的中学校友、世界银行的扶贫专家(农业经济学家)LG博士最喜欢的歌之一。他今天下午要来聊天,所以就把这首歌放在这里欢迎他。

Bette Midler的这首歌和《十五的月亮》相比,意境还是很有差别的。都是在背后支持,不过前者是无条件地支持个人的自由发展,追求极限,后者是支持伟大的事业。个人主义和集体主义之精神上的差别还是很大的。

The Wind Beneath My Wings歌词

Bette Midler

It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way,
you always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name -- for so long,
a beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and ev'rything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it,
I would be nothing without you.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,
You're ev'rything I wish I could be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
You are the wind beneath my wings.

Did I ever tell you you‘re my hero
You're everything, everything, I wish I could be
Oh I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
You are the wind beneath my wings.

You are the wind beneath my wings.
Wind beneath my wings, you, you, you...
You are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly away,
you let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you... you the wind beneath my wings,
Oh, you, you, the wind beneath my wings,

Oh, fly, fly,
so high against the sky, so high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you,
the wind beneath my wings.
