今天刚接收到<<JAS>>副主编华盛顿大学教授Wallace院士的Email,通知我们投到<<JAS>>的文章" The variability of the Atlantic storm track and the North Atlantic Oscillation: A link between intraseasonal and interannual variability" 需要大修改(Reviewers A and B),建议修改后两个月内送回. 还好没有直接给拒了,这是我们需要的状态. 大修改尽管麻烦,但能提高文章的质量,也能提高我们认识问题的能力,这也是对我们的科研能力和耐心的考验,

小修改尽管好,但有时候会放过对问题深度的认识.看来假期我们又不能休息了,只能仔细地修改文章了!

Review of Luo et al: The variability of the Atlantic storm track and the NAO: A linkbetween intraseasonal and interannual variability.

 

This is an interesting paper posing a good hypothesis and combining simple modellingand observational analysis. However, there are several places where the paper is letdown by unconvincing analyses and lack of information. I'm sure the paper could be acceptable for publication, but only if these are fixed. These would constitutemajor revisions, in particular those points highlighted with * below.
