Title: On Jacobi's method

 

Abstract.  Jacobi introduced a method to study some diagonal equations
over finite fields using exponential sums. His method was generalized
to study a general diagonal equation by Hardy, Hua and Weil, and was
generalized to study a general triangle equation by Wan. We will show
that one can use exponentials sums to study a little more complicated
object.
