Call for Papers: Soil Microbial Metabolism

已有 300 次阅读 2026-5-14 20:27 |系统分类:科研笔记

🌍 How do soil microorganisms shape the global cycles of carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus?

We are excited to announce our new Research Topic in Frontiers in Microbiology: "From Genes to Fluxes: Microbial Metabolic Mechanisms Underlying the Cycling of Biogenic Elements in Soils"

Soil microorganisms are the primary drivers of biogeochemical cycling on Earth, yet the physiological and metabolic mechanisms behind these transformations remain incompletely understood. This collection moves beyond descriptive surveys to provide mechanistic insights that connect specific pathways, enzymes, and regulatory strategies to elemental fluxes across terrestrial ecosystems.

We welcome contributions on:

🔬 Microbial metabolic pathways for C, N, S, and P transformations

Enzymatic and regulatory mechanisms of biogeochemical reactions

🧬 Genome-resolved metagenomics linking metabolic potential to ecosystem function

🤝 Syntrophy, cross-feeding, and community-level metabolic interactions

📊 Metabolic modeling and integrative omics approaches

🌡️ Impact of climate change and land use on microbial metabolism

Submission deadline: 30 November 2026

Topic Editors: Dr. Wenliang Ju (Peking University), Dr. Jie Wang (Guizhou University)

Topic Coordinator: Dr. Jiesi Lei (Duke University)
