*午饭后看完了海湾战争(Desert Triumph,The Complete story of the Persian Gulf War)片的最后两集。这场战争是本世纪末最重要的一次战争，是美国在军事、政治、外交、经济和科技上取得重大胜利的一场战争。它奠定了本世纪末下世纪初美国领先于世界各国的霸主地位。介绍称：“From the Invasion of Kuwalt on august 2, 1990 to its liberation six months later, these historic tapes offer the complete visual chronicle of the War in the persian Gulf. 今天是来美国的第210天,离预定7月4日返回北京的日子还有48天；离移民局同意我们延期居留美国的签证期限（8月22日）还有3个月另3天。雅虎天气预报北京C15-C23，上海C16-C26，哈尔滨C8—C23, NYC C14-C16，雨。预报这里从今天到下星期二雨，波士顿、罗得岛也一样，Albany 11C-23C, 阵雨。昨晚雨下了一夜，趁今晨暂时无雨，6:45-7:20am,沿旧有路线散步,湿气较大,受雨水滋润,树木花草长势喜人。

    今天道琼斯和纳斯达克指数双双双下挫,后者已经跌到3390.40的低点。Y& Z由于有一股未动而这几天损失了1177.74$。

    对于股市双双下挫，新闻媒体立即作出反映，下面的预测说明近些日子以来难以有大幅回升的消息。“2000年5月20日 5:3:53 （京港台时间） 美国股市再跌百五 【多维新闻社20日电】多维社记者武治国报导/美国两大股市19日双双走低，道琼斯指数收于10626.85点，比18日下跌150.43点，纳斯达克指数收于3390.40点，比18日下跌148.31点，跌幅达4.2%。纳斯达克指数与4月14日的最低点相比已相去不远，只有70点的差距，其中技术股、电讯股和金融股领跌。由于美国联储备局本周二增加基金利率50个基点，因而美国股市连日来熊气弥漫长久不散。利率敏感的金融股自然是重灾区，而科技类股又因为出现电脑病毒而更加脆弱，19日报导称"I Love You"变种电脑病毒再次发作，已经让许多美国跨国企业受到感染而导致电脑系统发生问题。此外，商务部19日早公布了美国三月份贸易赤字，达302亿美元，创下美国单月贸易逆差的最高记录，高于2月的287亿美元，也高于经济学家预测的297亿美元。由于下周中旬国会将通过议案给予中国永久正常贸易关系，经济学家担心中国的廉价进口将继续扩大美国的贸易赤字，而贸易赤字扩大表明消费者仍然在不断增加进口产品消费，因而有可能触发经济过热，美国经济目前已经连续增长110个月，这也同时创造了美国历史上经济连续增长的最长记录，而联邦储备局为了控制需求拉动型通货膨胀，必须继续提高利率，股市因而连日走软。由于未来几周不会有反应美国经济状况的重要经济数字出炉，且盈馀报告季节也接近尾声，短期内缺乏可以引领市场走势的力量，成交量始终低位徘徊，表明市场对联储加息的忧虑去除后，投资者并未因此而放弃观望态度，所以股市疲软可能持续以段时间。”

    3:50-4:45pm, 冒着细雨和L外出散步,到CVS商店去采购,邦迪45片2.29$是很合算的。多维260粒5.95$一瓶也不贵。至于美乐托宁3mg,60table 15.99$, 维他命E400粒装一瓶要23.99$,价格要高得多,效果如何难以判断。

6:30pm, Westchester County中国科科长来电话说:下周二Albany之行因故改期,这样我们和Y&J的为期一周的假期就比较完整了，为了确保星期二的活动我们可谓煞费苦心设计了几个方案：1，先到黄开来处，由开来星期二送到Albany，然后乘他们的车回来；2，到了Albany后请开来接到他那里；3.星期三先到唐林家住一晚，第二天去波士顿，晚上住罗得岛；4.星期二前在附近活动等。现在联成一片统筹安排比较方便了。其实究竟这个假期有多少时间旅游还是一个问题。
