Wu Lien-TEH (March 10, 1879 - January 21, 1960), male, with the word Xinglian, was born in Penang, Malaysia, from Xinning County, Guangzhou Province, Guangdong Province (now Taishan City, Guangdong Province). He is a doctor of medicine from Cambridge University, the founder of China's health and epidemic prevention and quarantine undertakings, a pioneer in China's modern medicine, microbiology, epidemiology, medical education and medical history [1], the first president of the Chinese Medical Association, the main organizer of Peking Union Medical College and Peking Union Hospital, a candidate for the 1935 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine, and the first Nobel Prize candidate in the Chinese world. [2]
