Charles M. Rice, male, was born in Sacramento, USA on August 25, 1952 [6]. He is a doctor of California Institute of Technology, an American virologist and physician, a professor of Rockefeller University [1], and the director of the Laboratory of Virology and Infectious Diseases of Rockefeller University. His main research field is hepatitis C virus. [2]
On October 5, 2020, with his contribution to the "discovery of hepatitis C virus", Harvey J. Alter, Michael Houghton and others won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2020. [3]
