this article introduced a research achievement in regeneration. By combining new sequencing techniques and bioinformatics, researchers identified genes and three kinds of regulatory elements related to regeneration for the first time in fruit fly whose regeneration ability was not discovered until the forties. More than 30% of regeneration genes are located in gene clusters. Those regulatory elements, which could be activated by some conserved genes among species, are DNA sequences and switches for boosting regeneration ability.
