Suzhou Institute of Systems Medicine, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (ISM) is a joint initiative between Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences(CAMS), the local government of Suzhou Industry Park (SIP) and Suzhou Municipality. ISM will serve as a new model that exploits systems biology and translational medicine approaches for discovery-and-innovation-based research and development towards medical and healthcare problems.
By assembling a world-class team of leading scientists across all disciplines to conduct highly integrated, cutting-edge research on major diseases, the new institute will be actively engaged in the following research activities: 1) Employing functional genomic and proteomic analysis of patient samples to identify a comprehensive sequence-based disease index and disease-specific bio-markers. 2) Leveraging the recent advances in systems biology to determine disease-associated gene programs and verifying the functional roles of disease-associated sequences and protein-protein interactions by cell engineering and humanized animal models. 3) Developing novel diagnostic tools, new vaccines, and novel treatment strategies, including a personalized medicine approach based on an individual’s genetic profile.
ISM is greatly supported and guided by its international Scientific Advisory Board, formed by the top and world-renowned scientists in their fields, for academic and scientific planning and talent selection. ISM has also built up an extensive network with other leading institutes and universities world-widely on co-supervision of Ph.D students, exchanging visiting scholars, organizing joint symposium and applying for multi-center research fundings.
We now sincerely welcome all talents around the world to join us for this exciting and highly rewarding endeavor, and will give our full support to propel gifted young scientists to rapidly grow up to become world leaders.
Applications are invited for positions at the levels of Assistant, Associate and Full Professorship covering a broad range of fields, including Cancer Biology, Tumor Immunology, Infectious, Autoimmune , Metabolic and Degenerative Diseases,as well as Medical Bioinformatics and Structural Biology.
