这位茶叶商人同时还照料广东朋友的一个儿子，在麻省理工大学读书的张文湛。

黄阿绍在纽约奥巴尼的茶叶店遭遇火灾后，还剩下波士顿茶叶店，地址是21 UnionSt， Boston。这是他的两张生意招贴画：

根据麻省理工大学网页记录，黄阿绍，不仅自己加入商人会所，1879还带领在麻省理工大读书的张文谌加入美国人权贵会所 Freemasonry，the Mt. Vernon Lodge。他们居住过波士顿附近的Malden镇。Malden镇今天有许多华裔和新移民居住。

波士顿是美国早期最大港口，太平洋铁路竣工之前，华人来东部必须搭乘美国商船。有多少华人搭船来东部做生意呢？那个时代，敢来美国找商机的华人具有什么样的胆略和智慧呢？

波士顿附近Salem也有个早期港口。有多少先人从这里踏上美国呢？本文意在抛砖引玉，希望引起更多对早期华人历史的发掘。
