引言:在去“四唯”的背景下,一方面不能唯论文、唯影响因子,但同时作为科研工作者也很有必要来认识了解本领域最有影响力的期刊以及国际同行正在开展的研究。有理由相信,有能力站在学术高峰上却仍然选择不热衷于影响因子和顶刊文章数量,那么一定是找到了对人类文明更有贡献的创新方式,因此是值得由衷敬佩的。
北京时间6月30日下午,科睿唯安2021年(2020版)《期刊引证报告》(Journal Citation Reports®, JCR)正式发布。本次更新变动较大,包括网站整体页面全新改版,增加了Open Access开放获取文章的比例,以及新的JCI指标(Journal Citation Indicator)。
SSCI(Social science citation index)即社会科学引文索引,数据库涵盖了3000多个社会科学领域世界领先的学术期刊,覆盖50多个学科。其中COMMUNICATION大类收录的SSCI期刊数目不断增加,从2018年的84种,2019年的88种,2020年的92种,增加到2021年的94种。
本次新增的2本期刊(Signs and Society、TECHNICAL COMMUNICATION)经过在ESCI中的考察终于收录入SSCI,另有113本期刊暂居于ESCI考察期内。ESCI相当于SSCI和SCI的预备队和扩展版,表现不佳的期刊随时也有可能从SSCI退回到ESCI。新成立的期刊在尚未列入SSCI之前也同样在ESCI里进行孵化,因此SSCI索引是一个动态调整的过程。
2021年报告显示,COMMUNICATION MONOGRAPHS取代了Journal of Advertising 成为了今年新闻传播学科的榜首,COMMUNICATION MONOGRAPHS影响因子高达8.667(Impact Factor,简称 IF),去年排在第9位且影响因子只是3.843。而去年以影响因子6.3翘首的 JOURNAL OF ADVERTISING 今年为5.522,排在第10位。
新闻传播学领域中影响因子超过5的期刊这次多达12本,其中超过7的期刊占了一半。前四分之一位Q1的23本期刊平均影响因子高达5.4,去年为3.18, 因此可以说,新闻传播领域期刊的影响因子实现了跨越式突破。
Open Access开放获取被认为是挑战传统学术出版产业链的新趋势,由作者付费以便所有读者可以免费获得全文,但也在争议中不断扩大学术版图,很多期刊采用了混合出版模式,即作者可以选择是否OA。今年科睿唯安首次公布了各期刊的OA数据,新闻传播学的平均OA比例为11%。
JCI作为一个新指标,是使用字段归一化计算来衡量期刊近三年来发表的所有文章包括评论文章影响力的新路径, JCI与影响因子将共同作为期刊质量评价的参考。影响因子突然增加的期刊可能JCI并不太高,而老牌的权威期刊影响因子或有下跌但JCI仍可以保持较高水平, JCI的引入对于水平较为稳定的权威期刊以及影响因子普遍较低的学科很有价值。
