本文对红外光无线MIMO通信系统在室内外的应用进行了深入研究和评价。本研究的主要目的是展示使用不同调制类型的光无线MIMO系统的优缺点。第一部分分析了采用WMC模型以及SISOMISOSIMOMIMO配置的APD接收机的重要OW参数。因此,成功地导出了2-1 MISO1-2 SIMOMIMO的解析表达式。这一部分还说明了在APD OW系统中使用分集方案可能获得的编码增益。在强衰落的情况下,SISO方法实际上是无用的,而分集方案能够提供可接受的BER。这一结果支持了本论文的研究方法,其中基于室内PIN二极管的实验测量证实了分集所提供的增益。在第二部分的工作中,我们针对三种不同的调制方式,即OOK调制、PPM调制和SIR-RZI调制,开发了几种适用于室内环境的光无线MIMO系统。将这些调制用于光学MIMO系统,研究了用于评估不同轴位移和不同发射机、接收机之间距离的MIMO系统误码性能的数学模型。结果表明,PPM系统具有较好的误码性能,抗干扰能力强。对一组新的数学模型进行了评估,结果表明,它们与经验模型的结果之间的相关性高达93%。因此,所建立的数学模型和用于特定评价的数学模型具有较好的对应关系,可以应用于今后对这些方面的研究。

 

This thesis provides an in-depthinvestigation and evaluation of infrared optical wireless MIMO communicationsystems to be applied in both indoor and outdoor environment. The principleobjective of the research is to demonstrate both the advantages anddisadvantages of the optical wireless MIMO systems using different modulationtypes. The first part provided analyses of important OW configurations usingAPD receivers using WMC model and SISO, MISO, SIMO and MIMO configuration.Thus, an analytical expression for 2-1 MISO, 1-2 SIMO and MIMO was successfullydeveloped. This part also illustrates the coding gains possible using diversityschemes for APD OW systems. In the presence of strong fading, the SISO approachis rendered virtually useless, whereas diversity offers acceptable BER values.The results underpin the approach of this thesis, where indoor PIN diode basedexperimental measurements confirm the gains offered by diversity. In the secondpart of the work, several optical wireless MIMO systems applicable for theindoor environment are developed for three different modulation types, OOKmodulation, PPM modulation and SIR-RZI modulation. These modulations are usedin optical MIMO systems are studied for which, mathematical models thatevaluate the BER performance of the MIMO system for different axis displacementand for different distances between transmitters and receivers. Based on theresults, the PPM system has been shown to present the best BER performance,including high interference-resistance capability. A group of new mathematicalmodels have been evaluated, which demonstrates a high level of correlation withthe results derived from empirical models at 93%. Thus, the mathematical modelsdeveloped and used for the specified evaluation appear to correspond reasonablywell, and can be applied in future research on these aspects.
