Nowadays it is a frequent case that twofocuses, including humanities focus and science one, are available in Chineseschools. Some persons emphasize the benefits of two focuses whereas others payattention to the importance of a wide range ofknowledge. As far as I am concerned, there are certain elements of truth to acknowledge two focuses in high schools.
To begin with, it is of great assistancefor students to know about their advantages as early as possible. No doubtsomeone is good at humanities courses while someone does well in science focus. If they could be instructed to concentrate their time and energy on theiradvantageous focus, they would be excellent in a specific course. In comparison,if they have to study all the courses in high schools, they have no choice butto spend plenty of time and energy on those they are not fond of. As a result, the advantageous courses are overlooked to some extent. Supposing that QianZhongshu was forced to learn mathematics, it is impossible for him to be a geniusin humanities. Besides, it is an unavoidable tendency to distinguish variousfocuses in current society. It goes without the slightest question that theworld is becoming increasingly professional and sophisticated, which means thateveryone should know everything of something rather than something ofeverything. Therefore, it is appropriate to help students to choose the focusthat they incline to in high schools. Only inthis way can they be prepared well for the future.
In conclusion, it is of some necessity andconfidence to arrange humanities focus and science major in Chinese high schools.
