The University of Toronto will be hosting an exciting international symposium titled "Bio-Inspired Ideas for Sustainable Energy" from October 8-9 2014 (all day each day). I attach a 1-page advertisement, which appeared in Nature a few weeks ago. We have many superb speakers confirmed, including Richard Friend (Cambridge), Michael Graetzel (EPFL), Alan Aspuru-Guzik (Harvard), Steve Forrest (Michigan), Tom Mallouk (Penn State), Mike Wasielewski (Northwestern), and Gabor Somorjai (Berkeley). Sir Richard Friend will be giving a popular lecture open to the public and the media on the evening of October 8. We will also be hosting events for students and faculty to network with representatives from industry.
We are also pleased to announce a prestigious, multi-disciplinary fellowship available to post-doctoral fellows working at the biology-technology-energy interface, tenable at the University of Toronto. Applicants are invited to send a CV and 3 letters of reference to jeannie.ing@utoronto.ca.
