Is life written in water (a poem)- 怀念似水流年

 

  第一次听梅艳芳的《似水流年》，喜欢的其实只是喜多郎的曲和郑国江的词。那时觉得Anita的嗓音太沙哑了，打扮也有点怪怪的。这么多年过去，却渐渐发现除了可以和她平分秋色的哥哥张国荣，应该没有谁能演绎《似水流年》得比梅艳芳更好的了。有一次在Youtube无意中发现一位粉丝用Life written in water来翻译似水流年，觉得真有意思。当时就想，有一天要写一首Life written in water，以纪念那些已走远的歌声，和那些似水流年。

In hues of feathery heather

Sweet as those lullabies

That mother softly whispers

 

Is life written in water?

With a touch of milky winter

When age starts to wear us

I swear we all felt a little bitter

 

Is life written in water?

The hearts that are shuttered

The dreams that are shattered

At night, tears flicker like sapphire

 

Is life written in water?

The memory that never blurs

Wrinkled hands of smiley grandpa

Tender like the old Moon River

 

Is life written in water?

I wonder if you know the answer

Or when we leave here one day

That answer no longer

no longer matters
