检索基本科学指标（Essential Science Indicators，简称ESI）得知1998年1月1日至2008年12月31日进入ESI的SCI、SSCI收录的计算机科学期刊有190种，11年计算机科学领域论文总被引次数、论文数排名均为美国第一位，论文数74,237篇、总被引396,835次、篇均被引5.35次；中国论文的总被引次数排名在第8位、论文数排名在第2位、篇均被引次数未进前20名，论文数19,978篇、总被引35,393次、篇均被引1.77次，其中有133篇高被引论文进入ESI。

需要说明的是某个国家论文数和引文数统计的根据是在发表的论文中出现的研究机构，如果一篇论文中署有至少一个国家的地址那么此论文就归属于该国家；论文中列出的所有国家都要考虑在内，而不只是考虑列在首位的国家；如果一个国家在该篇论文中出现多次，则按一次计算，所有在论文中出现的国家的引文数就是指该论文的引文数。

这133篇计算机科学领域高被引论文，引用最多的论文为和美国合作的国际合作论文（被引584次）。

下面为检索1998-2009年Web of Science分析得到至少有一位中国作者（不包括台湾）的计算机科学领域中通讯作者为中国作者总被引次数超过100次的12篇论文，这12篇论文分别刊登在9种期刊上，其中COMPUTER METHODS IN APPLIED MECHANICS AND ENGINEERING《应用力学和工程技术中的计算机方法》3篇、IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INFORMATION THEORY《IEEE信息论汇刊》2篇、IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON COMMUNICATIONS 《IEEE通信汇刊》1篇、IEEE JOURNAL ON SELECTED AREAS IN COMMUNICATIONS《IEEE通信选题杂志》1篇、JOURNAL OF THE ACM《美国计算机学会志》1篇、ACM TRANSACTIONS ON GRAPHICS《美国计算机学会图形学汇刊》1篇、ACM COMPUTING SURVEYS《美国计算机学会计算综览》1篇、BIOINFORMATICS 《生物信息学》1篇、JOURNAL OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS《管理信息系统杂志》1篇，第4、7篇为会议论文，第8篇为综述论文。
