Can you please do the following:
1) Close Mendeley and Word
2) Browse to C: —> Program Files (x86) [or Program Files if the (x86) version is not there] —> Mendeley Desktop —> CiteProc
3) Here, locate the loadlocale.js and rename it to loadlocale-old.js
4) Download and unzip the file from: https://www.dropbox.com/s/02iucw5nkjivl6f/loadlocale.zip and put it in the place where you renamed the file from 3).
Launch Mendeley Desktop and try using the plugin again. If you still have the same problem, please do the following:
A) Open Mendeley, press Ctrl + Shift + D and click ‘Open Data Directory’
B) Close Mendeley
C) In the window from A), open the ‘citationStyles-1.0’ folder, locate the citation style you are using and open it in Notepad.
D) Locate the line “<!--derived from ______-->” which should be the third line of the file and delete that line.
E) Repeat D) with “<!—<?xml version=”1.0" encoding=“utf-8”?>—>" at the bottom of the file.
Can you please let me know how you get on.
When I attempt to cite my articles in word I am presented with the error message:
Error: JavaScript error found: CSL error: Exception: TypeError: 'undefined' is not an object, 526, file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mendeley%20Desktop/citeproc-js/citeproc.js
The message earlier appeared in mendeley desktop in the main window instead of all the article information.
I have version 1.8.3 and have attempted to reset the program. Selecting 'copy citation' and pasting in word produces the same error message (copies the above error message text into my word document)
I am using the University of South Australia 2011 (Harvard) referencing style
