3.1 Download Files (下载文件)

Do not use the "Download" button， which will attempt to download all the files altogether over 3GB. Instead, scroll further down the page until you see individual files, then download each individual file as needed. They are much smaller (~100MB).

不要使用“Download"按钮。这个按钮会下载这里所有的文件(超过3GB)。最好单独下载具体需要的文件(约100MB,小很多，也快很多)。图示如下。

3.2 Windows

Download the msi installer, which is a self-contained package. It contains everything you need, including its own Java. The current version of CiteSpace requires Java 17.0.2.

下载 msi 安装程序，其中包含了运行CiteSpace所需要的文件，包括它自己的 Java。你不需要再另行下载Java。目前CiteSpace 需要 Java 17.0.2。

Note: although the installer can install the software in any folder of your choice, it is important to keep in mind that when you uninstall it, the installer will remove the entire installation folder. It is not a good idea to store user files under the installation folder, especially without backups, as they may be unintentionally removed by the uninstallation process, which commonly behaves this way.
As shown in the example below, when you select an existing folder test1 for the installation, the installer will remind you this is an existing folder. What it really means is this: everything in the test1 folder will be gone if one day you run the uninstall command. The good practice is: 1. always choose a new folder and 2. store your user files outside the installation folder. 3. if you really want to store your files under the installation folder, backup them elsewhere routinely.

注意：你指定的安装文件夹如果已经存在，安装是会保留现有文件（见下图）。但是，卸载时整个安装文件夹会被安装包删除。这是所有安装包的标准定义。所以最好不要在安装文件夹内存放新文件，至少要另做备份。
如下图所示，安装文件夹为 test1, 安装前内含 test2, test3, new1.txt （8:46 AM)。安装后 这些文件夹、文件仍然保留（8:48 AM)。但是卸载 （从control panel uninstall) 则会删除整个安装文件夹 test1。

From 6.1.R6 Advanced, users need to enter their email addresses to validate the software. Each email address can be validated on two computers. You can set your email address as an environment variable so that you don't need to enter your email each time you start CiteSpace. Here is how to do it on Windows:

从 6.1.R6 Advanced 往后，启动 CiteSpace 时需要你的邮箱地址认证。每个邮箱地址可以认证两台电脑。为了简便，你可以把你的邮箱地址设置为环境变量，这样就不必每次输入你的邮箱地址。
步骤如下：
