Liquid Metal-Enabled Microspheres with High Drug Loading and Multimodal Imaging for Artery Embolization

In article number 2209413, Jing Liu, Linlin Fan, and co-workers demonstrate the liquid metal-enabled microspheres with diverse capabilities for artery embolization. By adsorbing silanized liquid metal particles on sulfonated agarose microspheres, high drug loading and multimodal imaging is displayed under computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and B-scan ultrasonography. Animal experiments show such microspheres' excellent biocompatibility and hemocompatibility to facilitate future clinical applications.

Wide-Temperature Flexible Supercapacitor from an Organohydrogel Electrolyte and Its Combined Electrode

A flexible supercapacitor that integrates a wide application temperature range, satisfactory electrochemical performance and mechanical properties was fabricated by using anti-freezing and anti-drying organohydrogels both as electrolyte and binder of the combined electrode. The H2O molecules in the organohydrogel are fixed in the 3D polyacrylamide network through the hydrogen bond interaction of ethylene glycol and ionic hydration of LiCl, thus greatly limiting their crystallization or evaporation at extreme temperatures. Near-Infrared Aggregation-Induced Emission Ferroptosis Molecule
A near-infrared (NIR) aggregation-induced emission ferroptosis molecule (TBTP-Au) is first designed by introducing Au(I) active center. The self-assembled TBTP-Au nanoparticles with targeted modification display superior NIR imaging performance to monitor the blood-brain barrier penetration of nanoparticles. The controlled release of TBTP-Au specifically activate the effective heme oxygenase-1-regulated ferroptosis to greatly prolong the survival of glioma-bearing mice. In article number 2204898, Dan Liu, Weiwei Lei, and co-workers report a viable and general method that allows an effective synthesis of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs)-O-doped graphene nanosheet heterostructures by utilizing commercial TMD powder and sucrose as precursors. The solar evaporators of WS2-O-graphene exhibit high-performance water evaporation due to the improved photo-excited carrier transportation. This study provides a general approach for the design of heterostructure materials for solar-driven steam evaporation.
