This is a Special Issue dedicated to Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) on the occasion of her Centennial Anniversary. It includes eleven papers covering nanomaterials research, carbon-based materials, organic optoelectronics, metallic materials, and functional soft materials, reflecting the wealth of ways in which chemistry and physics are at play to produce advanced materials at Tsinghua University.
