Journal of Materials Chemistry has made a selection of its nanomaterials articles freely available - for one month only.
The papers can be accessed by clicking on the links below. They are a mix of primary research and review articles, by scientists from across the world. A superb highlight article, by Catherine Murphy, focuses on sustainability as a design criterion for not just nanoparticle synthesis, but also for their applications.
Another highlight, by Craig Grimes about the applications of highly ordered TiO2 arrays, has already been cited 12 times.
The research includes a paper by Raymond Schaak and colleagues, in which they convert nanocrystalline metals into alloys and intermetallic compounds with a view to use them in catalysis. This work was highlighted in Science Editor's Choice, Volume 319, Issue 5861.
Other papers cover topics including water-soluble gold nanoparticles, solid-state lighting from CdSe nanocrystals, ultra-thin Sb2S3 nanowires and dark-field microscopy of single metal nanoparticles.
