The Beginning

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. ²The earth didn’t have any shape. And it was empty. Darkness was over the surface of the ocean. At that time, the ocean covered the earth. The spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

³God said, “Let there be light.”And there was light. ⁴God saw the light was good, He separated the light from darkness. ⁵God called the light “day.” He called the darkness” night.” There was evening, and there was morning. It was day one.
