来到MIT的校园里，有两个事情和书籍循环使用有关系：

1. 在他们学院的操场旁边，有Gotbooks的旧书收集箱。第一眼看过去，尤其残破的样子看起来它已经被冷落多时了。通过其上的网站才发现，原来这个活动的倡导和运行者Bob Ticehurst刚刚在2014-2-14发布他们的这个活动被Big Hearted book公司统编的内容。内容见后，行文凄凉。看来这个活动无法得到更多的捐助而趋于流产。

2. 在MIT的Coop商店里的图书销售居然分成四档：

  （1）购买新书；

  （2）购买旧书；

  （3）租借新书；

  （4）租借旧书；

 图书的价格依次递减。

尽管现在很多资料都在网络上可以查询到，手捧一本书的感觉依然是所有的电子设备无法替代的。对于爱读书的人来说，在图书循环利用的环境里该是多么的快乐。

Dear fundraising partner,
I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for working with us and supporting our book reusing and recycling efforts for the last 13 years. I have personally gotten to know many of you and will miss working with you. I would also like to apologize if our service wasn't up to our typical Got Books standards in recent months. I know you are aware that we fell into some financial difficulties. It was my hope that we would recover from them and keep the business going, but could not. I hope you understand. This was not an easy decision for me, and it saddens me to close the doors.
I hope that you continue in your book reusing efforts, even though I will no longer be involved. In order to help you, we have sold our business to another very reputable book recycling business, Big Hearted Books, which has agreed to take over the rental of our collection containers and continue on with your fundraising efforts. I have met with a number of companies who would like to continue working with you, and I am confident that you will be best served by Big Hearted Books. I have known the owner, Kevin Howard, for almost 10 years. While technically we were competitors, Got Books and Big Hearted Books have worked well together covering the same New England region by assuring that more books were saved and put back into circulation. We have a mutual respect for each other, which is somewhat unusual in our industry, and it makes me feel a lot better knowing you will be well served going forward with a local, reputable company. I have spoken with a number of organizations who have worked with Big Hearted Books, and all the feedback is positive. For these reasons, I'm happy to endorse Big Hearted Books. They will be taking over the leases on your book container from Mini Warehousing and will continue to work with your organization to raise funds and save books from landfills. They now own the rights to our name Got Books, as well as, our website. As much as I hate to part with these things, as I have spent over 13 years of my life on this labor of love, I'm excited to see the program continue. Kevin has given me his word that he will keep the name Got Books alive, and has shared with me some of his plans for updating the website and expanding the program to possibly include clothing and shoes. He has some fresh ideas about ways to increase your recycling revenues, and says he will honor the rates that we had agreed upon, so I am happy to recommend Big Hearted Books to you. Thank you again for all your years of support. Even though I will no longer be a part of your book program, I will still be working with books at The Used Book Superstores. We will continue to have great books at super low prices. I hope you stop in to say hello and let me know how Big Hearted Books is treating you. I wish you all the best.
