miRNA是一类小的调控RNA,在肿瘤发生、发展和治疗的多个阶段里有重要的调控作用。研究表明miRNA通过调控不同的致癌基因和抑癌基因来影响肿瘤相关的生物过程。为了建立肿瘤miRNA调控的生物过程和靶基因的参考资源,应对实验验证的肿瘤miRNA的相关信息进行系统收集与整理。我们从约9000篇文献摘要提取了2259条肿瘤miRNA的信息,包括300余个不同的miRNA基因、25种不同肿瘤组织类型,并开发了基于Web的oncomiRDB数据库用于展示和分析从文献挖掘出来的条目。这为肿瘤miRNA的功能和调控网络的研究提供了重要的资源。数据库访问地址:http://bioinfo.au.tsinghua.edu.cn/oncomirdb/。
MicroRNAs (miRNAs), a class of endogenous small regulatory RNAs, play important roles in many biological and physiological processes. Till now, many miRNAs are shown to be functionally related to cancer initiation, development and therapy. To facilitate the study on cancer-related miRNAs, we set up this oncomiRDB database aiming at annotating the experimentally verified oncogenic and tumor-suppressive miRNAs from literature. This database only collects items having direct functional evidences: 1) the miRNA regulates at least one cancer-related phenotype or cellular process (such as proliferation, apoptosis, migration and invasion, senescence and cell cycle regulation); or 2) the miRNA directly regulates at least one oncogenic or tumor-suppressive gene verified by luciferase reporter assay. It should be a very useful resource for both the computational analysis and the experimental study on miRNA regulations in cancer.
