今天上午法国西卡特公司创立人和前CEO，JOB博士来课题组访问，并在煤转化国家重点实验室报告厅做了一个关于高比表面积SiC方面的报告。报告摘要如下：

A new family of Catalytic Supports based on Beta Silicon Carbide (β-SiC) has been developed at the research centre of SICAT high-tech company (France). By holding a broad portfolio of patents associated with a wide unpublished know-how, SICAT in cooperation with one of its shareholders, CNRS (the French National Agency for Scientific Research), is developing a brand new industrial process which leads to a wide range of β-SiC products (from powders, micro-spheres to highly resistant porous foams; and the combination with other materials such as zeolites or micro fibers is also new) with exciting physical-chemistry properties never obtained so far at highly-controlled industrial scale.

This presentation is aimed to introduce some pioneering results based on β-SiC products developed at SICAT research centre. As the potential applications offered by this new kind of catalyst are so wide and promising, SICAT is now open to all kinds of cooperation in order to customize its products for new applications in joined developments. It is worth noting that in the GTL (gas to liquid) or CTL (carbon to liquid) industrial processes, new catalysts based on β-SiC associated with new technologies are leading to a drastically improved efficiency and economic performance.
