I, ***, am a junior undergraduate student in the Dual Degree (B.Tech-M.Tech.) program, Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, which is a premier engineering institute in India.
I am writing to you to explore the possibility of obtaining an internship experience with you during the period from May 2008 to July2008 in order to gain hands-on experience to compliment my academic background.
My interest lies in the field of Computer Architecture.Having gone through your recent research papers, I found the approach discussed interesting and am really fascinated by the quality of your work. I would be obliged if you gave me an opportunity to work under you. I feel that I will be able to contribute to your work and at the same time develop and expand my understanding in the research activities related to this field.
After exploring various fields through projects, seminars, talks and courses in Computer Architecture, I have developed an undying interest in the subject and I want to build upon this and carry out further research work in this field aiming a PhD.
I have pursued relevant courses in Data Structures, Discrete Mathematics, Computer Organization and Computer Architecture and thus have a strong foundation to build upon in my research work.
