多年生草地通常以种子形式进行建植,且通常为异化授粉植物,导致子代变异较大。研究表明,在多年生草地建植的当季,植株死亡率从50%到90%不等,环境因素以及农艺管理措施对基因型的选择影响尚不明确。
美国威斯康星大学的研究人员Neal W. Tilhou和Michael D. Casler以低地型和杂交型柳枝稷为研究材料,在3个研究地点以及不同施肥水平下对此问题开展了系统研究。通过采集建植当季植株及建植3年的植株叶片进行DNA测序,利用多变量方差分析、全基因组性状预测和基因组估计育种值对个体等位基因频率进行分析。结果表明,在草地建植初期到草地稳定过程的自然选择过程中,仅有少量变异与建植地点和管理水平有关,在不同的环境和管理水平上自然选择维持相对一致。
