A
postdoctoral position is available in a laboratory of Dr. Nada Zecevic, MD,
PhD., University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington, Connecticut to study human neural development and its
relation to neurological disorders. The NIH-funded research entitled
“Development of the Cerebral Cortex in Mammals” focuses on progenitor cells
related to cerebral cortex development. Competitive candidates should have a
PhD in neuroscience or molecular biology and related fields, with knowledge of
molecular and cell biology, in particular making constructs and using
electroporation in cell and slice culture for transfection/infection
experiments. Basic neuroanatomy,
confocal microscopy and computer skills are preferable. Candidates will be
expected to devise and execute experiments, analyze data and present their results
on meetings and be involved in writing papers. Applicants should submit a cover
