Climate change and rapidly growing global populations, as well as plant diseases, crop insects, pose major challenges to agricultural production. Therefore, food security is the most critical problem affecting mankind. Technological advances in the agricultural sector, especially plant breeding techniques, contributed to an increase in agricultural productivity. Cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) and restoration of fertility (Rf) system has been successfully applied in more than 20 crops for over 60 years. Beside the great contribution for utilization of heterosis in crops, the underlying mechanisms are being studied by plenty of scientists around the world. Although more than 50 types of CMS were identified in crops, few CMS-associated genes and Rf genes were characterized.
Prof. Jun HU would like to call for research and review articles for an aBIOTECH special issue on “Cytoplasmic Male Sterility and Fertility Restoration”. Many of the papers in this issue will be invited by issue editor; however, unsolicited papers related to the topic are also welcome.
We would like to invite you to contribute a research article or review article for the special issue, relating to Cytoplasmic male sterility and Restoration of fertility in crops and associated technologies developed.
aBIOTECH, a new journal led by Editor-in-Chief Prof. Yunde Zhao, publishes amazing, awesome, and advanced research in all areas of plant biotechnology. The journal’s scope, editorial board, and published articles are available at both https://www.springer.com/journal/42994 and www.aBIOTECH.net. The published aBIOTECH papers have been downloaded thousand times. aBIOTECH has quickly become a recognized new journal in the field of biotechnology.
One of the benefits of publishing with aBIOTECH is that aBIOTECH does not charge authors any fees and publication costs. Meanwhile, we will select several papers from this issue for open access (OA). Article processing charges (APCs) of chosen articles will be covered by aBIOTECH Editorial office.
We hope that you will accept our invitation to contribute an article to aBIOTECH. With your support, aBIOTECH will grow into a prominent journal that fulfills the needs of plant biology and biotech community.
