智能机器人与应用最佳论文奖创立于2020年，旨在选出每年度发表在期刊 International Journal of Intelligent Robotics and Applications（IJIRA，中文译名《智能机器人与应用国际期刊》）上的最佳文章，以示对优秀论文作者的鼓励与感谢，促进与推动智能机器人领域突出科研成果的传播。获奖文章作者将获得证书、奖牌和1000美元奖金。

2022年度智能机器人与应用最佳论文奖作为该奖项的第二届评选，征集了2020-2021年度发表在IJIRA上的原创文章（综述、主编作为联合作者的文章除外）的提名，收到了期刊编辑、审稿人、作者及读者的踊跃推荐。基于对文章质量、独创性、实用性、及时性和语言表达等标准的评估，评选委员会对提名文章进行了认真评估考量，共有五篇文章入围，公布如下。
