现今离子源,约翰芬恩发明的ESI,测量的分子量大约在10万u,而田中耕一的MALDI,大约在50万u。当采用不是真空环境的敞开式离子源,例如DESI,其测量分子量最大值大约2.5万u,如何提高常压敞开式离子源的测量分子量,是一个重要的课题。我们的公式指出,测量物质的半径(分子量)与压强P、离子迁移速度v有关。当压强P一定时,例如在常压下,调节离子迁移速度v可以提高测量的分子量。离子迁移速度v越慢,测量分子量越大。这对于质谱成像技术有着重要的参考价值。论文参考见以下链接。
