URGENT! Weare looking for EU partners (Not Italy) and China partners for a project onnext call: Waste: A resource to recycle, reuse and recover raw materials(deadline 21 April 2015).
According to the specific challenge, our project will be address to evaluateexisting techniques and develop new and innovative approaches for efficient useof agricultural waste, co-products and by-products, thereby contributing to thecreation of sustainable value chains in the farming and processing sectors.
The aim of the project is to create a platform addressing the challenges ofreusing and recycling food wastage in a sustainable way by combiningnew-thinking with traditional approaches. This will be done by usingmultidisciplinary approaches including academia, suppliers, users, policymakers and others.
For the specific project (BioNat4Health) will consider the onion waste that arethe second most important horticultural crop worldwide, after tomatoes. With“BioNat4Health” project will be identify useful onion genotypes for productionof bioactive natural compounds that could be used for obesity treatment.
The project will run for 36 months.
