Manuscripts can be rejected by a journal for various reasons.
For manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Mountain Science, one of the reasons is that it has high similarity with previously published papers, which can be other authors' papers, and can be the authors' own papers. When the Simiarity Index checked by using the iThenticate software reached 50% or the Similiarity Index with one single paper reaches 20%, or the conclusion and other important views are taken from other papers even though the Similarity index are not high, the manuscript will be rejected.
All manuscripts will be subjected to anti-plagiarism crosschecking before it's initial reivewed and peer review.
The follows is an example of the rejection letter.
