Routine blood work is good, especially if your primary care physician knows how to interpret it correctly for you.
I got a bunch of blood tests done last week, and the results looked ok to me. Still, I figured that doctors know better, so I went in this morning to get professional opinions. This time, I chose Dr. K (thanks to a co-worker's recommendation), because Dr. Vinay P was not in (thank goodness).
Well, each doctor surly has his own opinions. Dr. K noticed that I didn't get direct LDL, which was high last Nov. He wondered why. I had an answer for him: "Dr. Vinay P wanted to save money." Dr. K shook his head, as if saying "I can't believe he did this!"
To my surprise, Dr. K told me that my vitamin D level is low. (Well, I know why it's low because I stay away from the sun as much as possible, due to fear of getting skin rashes. Now, I created another problem.) So, I headed straight to the drug section of Costco, and bought a bottle of D3. (I noticed the change of label when D3 came out a few yeas ago. I didn't care, because I never thought I would need it as a supplement one day.)
If you don't know what vitamin D does, you may want to look into it yourself. Calcium does not strengthen one's bones without the help of vitamin D...
