For God's sake, if your results are not new enough to be considered "to show something for the first time," do you really need to publish them? (Maybe, confirmation of published results is needed sometimes, especially at the beginning of such research.)
I prefer NOT to use such a phrase, "for the first time." It gets tiresome...
