Checking out the hotel at 8:30am, thinking: "How much I wish I could go home on a non-stop flight."
Across from my departure gate (PDX to SLC), it was a non-stop flight by Hawaiian (PDX to HNL). How much I wish I could get on that flight--the thought re-surfaced many times that day during the rest of my trip home.
Portland, OR to Salt Lake City (SLC), returning to my business trip destination. No problem.
Next, SLC to LAX, on a small commuter plane, I was half frozen by the time we landed in L.A. No problem. I was invited by my colleagues to go to UA Red Carpet Club, where one could get free snacks and free wine. Wait, our flight from LAX to HNL was cancelled!
With in minutes, we were put on another commuter plane, to SFO. Luckily, this one was BIG, and only half full. So, I enjoyed my free apple from the club, and took a short nap.
The Red Carpet Club in SFO is NICE. Since we had to kill two hours, even I tasted the red wine. Not bad at all.
Finally, our flight to HNL took off, around 8pm. I kept on thinking how little I accomplished today, by going around in a nearly perfect circle: PDX to SLC to LAX to SFO...
My bag arrived before I. By the time I got home, it was 11:30pm. I hit the pillow right a way...
