It was overcast and warm in Honolulu. I was on my way from Waikiki to my office at UH. Since Leonard's was on my right and relatively quiet, I pulled in. It took me a couple of minutes to get a stall, and another five minutes in line to get my first famous malasada...
I decided to eat it on the spot, since the taste is the best when it's HOT. Well, I have to say it is GOOD. It's lighter than what you get from other stores, and crispier, too. It must be a family recipe, trade secret.
As you can see from the photo I took, it's a "hot spot" for the locals as well.
Oh, many Japanese tourists stop by there. I suspect the Leonard's in Yokohama must be doing well, too.
