How are visiting scientists treated at some department?

I went to a seminar yesterday, and wanted to chat with the speaker today. Since I knew which department he is at, I went to look for his info. Nothing, no name, no email, and no office number.

So, I called the department office. I was told that he is a visiting scientist. Ok, fine. BUT, he has been visiting for more than one year! Does that count for something? In fact, that department does not even have a page for post docs!

Shame on you, for treating young scientists like nobody!
