I know all of you learned this English structure years ago. When writing a (long) sentence in a research paper, however, one may not recall this unique structure. Instead, one may write "not only...and also..."
The CO2 is released NOT ONLY from our cars AND ALSO from our air condition systems at home and in the office.
Everyone can understand the above sentence, but it is NOT good English writing.
The correct way: The CO2 is released NOT ONLY from our cars BUT ALSO from our air condition systems at home and in the office.
