2. Logical Expression of Ideas
a) Coordination and subordination
Example: Ann has a cough, and she has probably caught a cold.
Correction: Ann has a cough; she has probably caught a cold.
b) Logical comparison:
Example: Dr. Wang publishes more papers than his colleague’s.
Correction: Dr. Wang publishes more papers than his colleagues (do).
c) Modification and word order
Example: Crying loudly, the tree had the boy’s kite wrapped around it.
Correction: Crying loudly, the boy had wrapped his kite around a tree.
