10/29 (Sun): 10 am Honolulu Museum//lunch at the museum: curried turkey salads (https://pinchmysalt.com/curried-turkey-salad-with-apples-cranberries-and-walnuts/)

10/30 (Mon): Ala Moana Beach Park/Kailua Beach//lunch at Buzz (where Obama dined): beef burger, fish burger, Caesar salad//Valley of the Temples (General ZHANG, Xueliang’s resting place)

Update: Go to Kailua Beach early (say getting there around 8 am on weekdays), and park there. Walk to Lanikai Beach (#1 US beach), and take shoes off to enjoy the fine sand. Take trash bags (to sit on wet sands).

10/31 (Tue): small island circle (Koko Head Crater, Blowhole, Makapuu Point, Pali Lookout)//Hawaiian food at Helena’s (terrible parking situation; avoid peak dining time; open on Tue-Fri only)//Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific

11/1 (Wed): USS Arizona Memorial (reservation; movie line/boat tour line/stand by line)//Haleiwa (lunch at Beach House: calamari or squid ring; medium burger too dry/got a replacement patty/shrimp/Caesar salad)//Chinaman’s Hat (under heavy clouds)

11/2 (Thu): Diamond Head photo before 8 am/breakfast at Hau Tree: two eggs sunny side, spinach benedict, pan cake (stack of 4!)//Drive around Waikiki/return to the beach near Diamond Head with a light house
