Job Description:

The Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa (SNS) invites applications for a renewable three-year position from scientists with at least two years of post-doctoral experience in the field of Theoretical Astrophysics or Cosmology.

Depending on the experience of the candidate, the salary will be in the range between 40.000 and 46.000 EU/year. Research funds will be available following the procedures of the SNS.

Interested applicants should submit CV, a research project and the indication of three referees to the Director of the SNS. Application deadline is January 28, 2011.

The research areas for the search include: theoretical cosmology, with emphasis on computation, simulation and data mining; experimental astrophysics, whit emphasis on first stars, cosmic reionization and gamma-ray bursts; theoretical particle physics as related to understanding dark matter and dark energy. We seek candidates with significant accomplishments and promise for further achievement in the above fields.
