封面说明:Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been widely used for engineering applications and it is crucial for CFD to be able to accurately predict complex turbulent flows. The article, “constrained large-eddy simulation and detached eddy simulation of flow past a commercial aircraft at 14 degrees angle of attack”, for the first time, utilized a novel turbulence model developed by the authors for investigating flows over a commercial aircraft with massive separations. The results show that the constrained large-eddy simulation (CLES) can capture the mean flow quantities and small-scale structures better than other traditional engineering methods. This study demonstrates that the CLES has a great potential for modeling turbulent flows with complex boundaries (See the article by CHEN ShiYi et al. on page 270).
