Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe, born on May 14, 1945, is a British cell and molecular biologist, a clinician, and the director of the Department of Clinical Medicine of Oxford University. He mainly studies cell responses under hypoxia. [1]

On October 7, 2019, he won the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. [2-3]
