屠呦呦团队的青蒿素或可治糖尿病
由我国药学家屠呦呦和她的团队研制出的青蒿素药物至今仍然是世界范围内最主要的抗疟药物,成功挽救了数百万人的生命。
12月1日,在线发表于美国Cell(《细胞》)杂志上的一项突破性研究表明,这一药物或许还可以拯救数亿糖尿病患者。来自奥地利科学院CeMM分子医学研究中心等机构的科学家,利用一种特别设计的、全自动化的分析,科学家们检测了大量已批准药物对人工培养的α细胞的作用。结果惊喜地发现,青蒿素能够让产生胰高血糖素的α细胞“变身”产生胰岛素的β细胞。
