中国农业科学院作科所童红宁研究员与中国科学院遗传发育所储成才研究员应邀在Trends in Plant Science上联合发表题为“Functional Specificities of Brassinosteroid and Potential Utilization for Crop Improvement”的综述论文,系统阐述了植物甾醇类激素油菜素内酯在水稻中的特异性功能作用机制及其在作物分子设计育种中的应用策略。
油菜素内酯控制着水稻叶夹角、株高、粒型等多个重要农艺性状,在农业生物技术上具有重要应用潜力。水稻中的一系列研究表明,此激素在不同环境下对不同性状的控制在下游具有相对特异的信号通路,例如,油菜素内酯通过控制赤霉素代谢来调控水稻株高(Tong et al., Plant Cell, 2012; 2014; 2016),而通过调控OsGRF4功能调控水稻粒长(Che et al., Nature Plants, 2015),并且不同水平的油菜素内酯对水稻不同组织的生长发育具有不同甚至相反的调控功能。鉴定相应通路的特异组分可用于对某一性状进行定向改造,从而辅助分子设计育种。
