英年早逝的英国植物学家David Thomas Gwynne-Vaughan (1871--1915)

 英年早逝的英国植物学家David Thomas Gwynne-Vaughan (1871--1915)曾在剑桥大学学习。1894年他到邱园Jodrell实验室(The Jodrell Laboratory, Royal Kew Gardens, London）跟随Dukinfield Henry Scott (FRS, 1854--1943)从事现代植物和化石植物的形态解剖学研究。Dukinfield Henry Scott是一位有钱公子哥，他掌管Jodrell实验室长达14年但不领薪水。

    1897—1907年，David Thomas Gwynne-Vaughan在格拉斯哥大学跟随Frederick Orpen Bower (FRS,1855--1948)工作，主要研究蕨类植物的形态解剖学。

 自1907年起，David Thomas Gwynne-Vaughan与苏格兰著名古植物学家Robert Kidston (FRS,1852--1924)开始了卓越合作。[注：Robert Kidston是苏格兰的富二代，也是有钱公子哥。]他们共同研究了蕨类植物--紫萁科（Osmundaceae）化石材料，发表了系列经典研究成果。参见：
